Evony Battlefield Traps: What Is Restored After the Match

Medieval engineers inventorying damaged defensive traps outside a fortress after battle

Battlefield protection does not restore every loss. Main-city troops receive special recovery treatment, while destroyed traps and dead subordinate-city troops are exceptions. Planning with the wrong assumption can leave a player surprised after the match ends.

According to the official Evony FAQ, traps wounded in Battlefield and dead subordinate-city troops cannot be recovered. Main-city troops do not die or become captured in Battlefield; they appear wounded, the Hospital has no capacity limit during the battle, healing costs no resources, and those troops are automatically restored when the battle ends. Battlefield resources are not plundered, and defeated generals do not die.

Separate the Four Outcomes

Main-city troops

These receive the special Battlefield recovery rules described above. Confirm the match has completely ended before diagnosing missing troops.

Traps

Do not expect destroyed traps to return automatically. Record trap counts before and after the match if defensive testing matters to your plan.

Subordinate-city troops

Dead troops from subordinate cities are not covered by the main-city restoration rule. Check subordinate cities individually after the match.

Resources and generals

Resources are not plundered in Battlefield, and defeated generals do not die. This does not make every deployment consequence-free because traps and subordinate troops still require attention.

Post-Battle Audit

  1. Wait for the Battlefield result and return to the normal server.
  2. Check main-city troop totals and Hospital state.
  3. Compare trap inventory with the pre-match count.
  4. Inspect each participating subordinate city.
  5. Record any rebuilding need before starting unrelated projects.

Optional Resource Planning

Resources do not restore traps automatically and do not change Battlefield recovery rules. They may matter only if the player decides to rebuild eligible defenses, retrain troops, or continue city development afterward. Read the live in-game cost before comparing a package.

As transparent scale examples, the 1B package, 10B package, and 20B package each split the total equally among Food, Lumber, Stone, and Ore. The supplied catalog lists them at $1, $10, and $20 respectively.

Common Mistakes

  • Assuming all Battlefield losses are restored.
  • Checking only the main city and forgetting subordinate cities.
  • Rebuilding before confirming the actual trap shortage.
  • Treating a resource package as a recovery mechanic.
  • Leaving no pre-match baseline for comparison.
